Karlis Silins Collection
We have been fortunate to aquire the remains of a private collection of 20th century paintings
etc. signed K. Silins. Some pieces are dated which suggest that the collection was assembled early 1980's.
The previous owner of the collection informs us that the artist was from Latvia. Our personal research has brought to
light a KARLIS SILINS, but scant information of him or his earlier work. More recent work is on the internet.
Karlis Silins was born 1958. He graduated from secondary art school in 1977, and from the
Latvian Academy of Art in 1984. He started exhibiting in 1981, organising 6 solo shows including Paris. Later
international exhibitions included Paris, Bordeaux and Strasbourg. A collection of his works can be found in the
State Museum of Latvia, and with private collectors in Germany, USA, Russia, France, Australia and Scandinavia.
